A ProffesIONAL blog of my Journey

The Latest

WHATS GOING ON NOW

I’m actively developing my cybersecurity skills and staying on track with my career goals by preparing for the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) certification, ISC2 CC certification, & the ITIL Foundation 4 certification. To build a strong foundation, I’m working through a structured study plan that includes video lectures, hands on labs, and practice exams. Once completed, I plan to pursue the ISC2 SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) certification, preparing through in-depth lectures, note-taking, and lab-based learning.

Beyond certification prep, I fully immerse myself in the cybersecurity community to stay current and connected. I regularly listen to the Simply Cyber Daily Threat Briefing podcast, which helps me stay informed about emerging threats and trends in the field. I’m also an active member of the Simply Cyber Discord community, where I engage with seasoned professionals.

Locally, I’m involved with an ISC2 chapter in Idaho, and I collaborate with peers in study groups to prepare for various certification exams. I’m also part of an EC-Council group chat, connecting with both students and practitioners to exchange knowledge and insights. Also, on Discord I try to stay connected with communities via Hack the Box, Dion Training Solutions, and Try hack me.

To further enhance my skill set, I’m currently taking a hands-on phishing course led by Tyler Ramsbey, where I’m gaining practical experience in social engineering and attack simulation techniques. Additionally, I’m applying my knowledge in real world scenarios through interactive labs on Hack The Box, which help reinforce core concepts and critical thinking skills.

Finally, I’m actively applying for IT roles to gain professional experience and begin building a strong career foundation within the technology industry. Each step I take is intentionally aligned with my long-term goal of becoming a cybersecurity professional, and I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this dynamic field.
